It is with great pride that I offer for your consideration, Jessie Tredinnick for this year's Wisconsin Hockey Coaches Association/American Family Insurance Mr. Hockey Award.
I have known Jessie for many years, and have watched him develop from a young player who showed potential, to a dedicated hockey player who displays extraordinary talent, and true leadership.
Jessie has played on the High School Varsity Hockey team all four years. He not only made the team, but played as a Freshman, in 24 games, recording 10 goals, and 15 assists for 25 points. As a sophomore, Jessie was voted 1st team all Conference, and received Honorable Mention All State Honors. He scored 23 goals, 28 assists for a total of 51 points in 25 games. In Jessie’s junior season he was voted captain and finished the season with 75 points (40 goals and 35 assists) in 26 games. He was voted 1st Team All Conference and 1st Team All State. As a senior, Jessie is a returning captain, and through his first 16 games, he has 21 goals and 18 assists for a total of 39 points.
Jessie is on pace to become the individual record holder in all of the following categories:
- Most Games Played in Onalaska High School History
- Most Goals Scored during High School Career
- Most Assists Scored during High School Career
- Most Total Points Scored during High School Career
Jessie has worked extremely hard to develop his hockey skills. He has always dedicated himself to the sport, and to improving his play. When not playing hockey, Jessie devotes many hours to his off-ice preparation for hockey. This includes the weight room, the track, and stick handling/shooting. All the work has paid off as he made Team Wisconsin this past fall. From a coaching stand point Jessie does not demand a great deal of attention. He simply shows up, and produces. He has consistently put points on the board, without creating distractions.
He shows the same strong work ethic and determination away from the rink. His current semester grade point average of 3.7, shows he has continued to work and improve in his overall school work and dedication to improve his grades. This determination and perseverance is Jessie’s typical work results. He can always be counted on to get results.
Jessie enjoys giving back by working with the youth of the community. He helps out with the Tornado Youth hockey teams. He has also worked as a Skate Guard during open skate hours at the Onalaska Omni Center. I have no doubt he'll succeed in life after high school.
Once again, it is with great pride that I submit Jessie Tredinnick for your consideration for the WHCA/AFI Mr. Hockey Award.
