The Cougars capitalized 62 seconds later. Olivia Thompson skated the puck in deep and proceeded to go behind the Fury net. Thompson dropped the puck off for Zephryn Jager. Jager picked the puck up and wrapped it around for the power play goal. This concluded the scoring for the period and had the game tied at 1 at the end of 2 periods.

The third period was more of what was shown in the first two.The major difference was an even strength goal by the Fury. After supplying constant pressure, Sara Nerad forced the puck into the net with Mya Masionka and Olivia Combs assisting on what proved to be the game winner.
