Jason has been a 2 time captain of the Warriors and has lead the team each year in virtually all major categories throughout his career.  Jason prides himself in playing a hard, clean style of hockey.   In addition, Jason is currently the all-time leading scorer in Waunakee history and has helped position the high school program for growth in a community that is rich in athletic tradition. Jason has also been an integral part of the broader high school community by being heavily involved with Team Wisconsin (U-16 and U-18) as well as being picked for the NIT Bauer All-Star Game as a member of Team Wisconsin.  In addition to the various on-ice accolades, Jason prides himself in taking care of business off the ice, in the most important place - the classroom.  Jason boasts a 3.67 GPA and is a member of the National Honor Society.

Jason has provided leadership both on and off the ice throughout his high school career at Waunakee.  Along with being a 2 time captain of the Warriors, Jason has been extremely active throughout the local community.   Jason has been a volunteer at the Waunakee's local rink (including significant involvement with the rink construction)  as well as involvement with various other hockey and non-hockey activities including the community's local Waunafest and participation with his local church. 

Jason provides a work ethic, respect and overall character that epitomizes the prestige that goes along with the Mr. Hockey Award.  Jason has an unprecedented balance of hard work, passion, skill and respect for his opponents, the referees and most importantly - respect for the game of hockey.  Jason has provided and will continue to provide a positive face for high school hockey throughout the state and deserves consideration to be the recipient of the Mr. Hockey Award.
