Oshkosh seeks new head varsity coach

By WiPH Staff 05/05/2012, 9:09am CDT

Appleton United Boys High School Varsity Hockey team’s newly appointed head coach, Cliff Watson Sr., has a simple yet effective coaching philosophy “Have Fun… Work Hard… Have Fun”.

You don’t have to look too far to see how successful this strategy has been by the achievements of the athletes he has raised in his own home and the many players he has coached and mentored within the community at Appleton Area Hockey Association and Northeast Wisconsin Junior Gamblers Hockey.

Coach Watson’s passion for the sport and for making hockey “fun for everybody” including players and their family members will convey a revived spirit to the United Program. His focus on player development, attitude and commitment to skills improvement will be directed at the “Work Hard” part of the equation to establish a well-disciplined, confident and competitive team.

This fresh approach brings a renewed energy and excitement for the upcoming season and the future growth of the Appleton United Boys Hockey Team.
