Two Win Streaks Come to An End

Six Power Plays, Zero Goals

Sauk Prairie traveled to Reedsburg to play the Cheavers and were looking to keep their conference title hopes alive. The Eagles entered with a 4 game win streak, while RWD had posted 5 straight wins.

Reid Marsich gave the Cheavers the early lead with an assist from Ben Jones at 1:34 of the first period. Sauk Prairie's Jay Liedtke tied the game at 3:25 of the first period with Willy Hanson and Riley Jelinek assisting on the goal. Levi Carr finished the period with 11 saves for the Eagles, while Cooper Oakes had 5 saves for RWD.

The second period found teams killing off penalties. Ace Ayers picked up an interference penalty for Sauk Prairie at 1:40 of the period. The Eagles killed off the penalty, but found themselves in another penalty kill situation with 12:09 left in the period. This time Camden Desroches went to the sin bin for high-sticking. Once again the Sauk Prairie kept the game tied at 1. RWD's Thomas Pfaff was the next player to take a 2 minute break, when he was called for holding at the 11:08 mark. The power play only lasted 10 second for the Eagles, because Hakan Peterson was called for interference. When these two penalties were completed, the teams were still tied. Derek Pawlak was the next Cheavers player that was called for a minor penalty, elbowing, with 3:15 seconds on the clock. The period ended with both teams having 1 goal. Oakes picked up 6 saves in the period, while Carr had 10.

The third and overtime found both teams unable to put goal in the back of the net resulting in a tie. Oakes finished the game with 20 saves, while Carr had 30 for Sauk Prairie.
