Carter Maack's goal in the fourth round of a shootout Hudson gave Hudson the win over St. Michael-Albertville in the Schwan's Cup Silver Division championship game at Ridder Arena on the campus of the University of Minnesota on New Year's Day.

Maack's goal came after the score was tied 3-3 after 51 minutes of regulation and eight minutes of overtime and after seven straight misses by the two teams in the shootout. It gave the Raiders their second consecutive Schwan's Cup title after winning the Bronze Division championship last year on the way to their second consecutive WIAA state title.

Technically the game goes down as a tie, moving Hudson's season record to 6-3-1. St. Michael-Albertville, which advanced to the Minnesota Class 2A state tournament last season, fell to 7-3-1 this season.
