Hockey Fights Cancer takes place at the Ice Pond this weekend

WAUNAKEE, Wis. (WMTV) – The Wauankee Warriors, Norski co-op and Cap City Cougars girls hockey teams are all playing for more than just a win this weekend.

It is the annual 'Hockey Fights Cancer' initiative will take place at the Ice Pond Thursday, Nov. 29 through Saturday, Dec. 1, with three different Booster Clubs.

The Waunakee Warriors are raising money and awareness for pancreatic cancer, while the Norski co-op teams and Cap City Cougars girls teams are raising money and awareness for breast cancer.

The Waunakee Warriors have worked to raise awareness and funds for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network with inspiration from the NHL’s Hockey Fights Cancer initiative. For the past six years, they have raised almost $7,000.
