The crystal ball used by The Hockey Writers.com was 50% right when it came to the possible selection of Ty Emberson and Jack Gorniak in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft held June 22-23.
Larry Fisher had Emberson going in the third round to Arizona, and he nailed that, as the former Eau Claire Memorial star defenseman was the 73rd overall pick of the draft.
Gorniak, a forward from West Salem/Bangor, went two rounds earlier than predicted. The crystal ball clouded a bit, and then when it was all over and done, Gorniak was grabbed by Montreal in the fourth round (123rd overall).
Brief interview with Ty Emberson:
"Obviously the #NHLDraft is the crazy thing everyone grows up dreaming about, but now that I’m here and it’s happened, the real work starts.”
