Team drops 4-1 contest in the semifinals

The Wisconsin Selects U19 squad made a good run at the 2018 USA Hockey Nationals, but ended up one game short of the title game, losing 4-1 to the East Coast Wizards Sunday evening in Marlborough.

The Wizards scored two goals in rapid succession in the first, but Abby Comar scored a power play goal late in the second period to close the gap to 2-1, with assists from Mesa Meyer and Michaela Fritz.

The Wizards got their own power play goal early in the third and then added an empty netter with 34 seconds left to seal the deal.

According to parents at the game, the box score on USA Hockey has the shots backwards. The Wizards then held a 38-11 shot edge over the Selects. Emily Nettesheim stopped 34 shots in the contest.
