GREEN BAY – The Green Bay Notre Dame boys hockey team made it to the WIAA state tournament in 2018 for the first time in four years.
But part of that road to the big stage no longer counts.
The WIAA has ruled Notre Dame must forfeit all 15 of its regular-season wins and its Fox River Classic Conference championship this season for using an ineligible player.
The underclassman arrived at Notre Dame after spending his previous season playing for a school in a different part of the state. His family got an apartment in Green Bay so he could play at Notre Dame, although it appears that didn’t satisfy WIAA transfer rules.
