Twelve players played on last year's U15 team at Natties

Team Wisconsin U16 team will advance to Nationals this year in Philadelphia on the basis of their 3-0 record at Central Districts, including an exciting 3-2 shootout win over Team Illinois, which featured four straight TW shootout goals.

The team is represented by 14 different high school teams in the state of Wisconsin.

Twelve players on this year's roster played on last year's U15 team that participated in Arizona, going 1-1-0-1 (OT loss).

This year, three Central District teams will compete at Tier I U16 Nationals: Chicago Mission, Chicago Young Americans, and Team Wisconsin.

'T-Dub's' roster is built from the goalie out. They have two very solid netminders--Garrett Larsen and Max Gutjahr--that have played very well in the spring as well as the pre-season in the fall. The scoring has been fairly evenly distributed from top to bottom, speaking volumes to the group of guys in the locker room.

Along with solid defenders, the team consists of lots of talented players that are held accountable to be '200 foot' hockey players.

"Since coming back together as a group four weeks ago, our goal as a team has been to get better each weekend," said Coach Marcus Johnson. "I think as a group we are continuing to take steps in the right direction."

Also, Johnson said, "We are looking forward to the opportunity that is in front of us next week at the Tier I National tournament. Our team is excited to represent the state of Wisconsin and is looking forward to the chance to compete at the highest level of U16 hockey in the United States."

MyHockeyRankings.com has TW listed at the number one spot with a record of 38-3-4. Chicago Mission is ranked second, and the Chicago Young Americans are rated 10th.
