Abigail Stow showed why she was the states top player in the semifinal game against the Central Wisconsin Storm.
Stow scored 4 goals and assisted on the fifth as the ECA Stars defeated the defending State Champions 5-2.
For the fine showing the Stars make their first State championship game appearance ever on Saturday.
The Stars got the scoring started on the power play. Abigail Stow picked up the puck in her own zone. She skated up the middle and from the top right circle let off a shot that got past the Storm net minder Chloe Westberg. Stow would strike again over a minute later with a shot that went off the tip of Westberg's glove.
The Storm did get one back on a loose puck scramble that final was knocked in by Trinity Foster for a 2-1 game ending the first period.
ECA tacked up two more in period two. Abigail Stow again scoring both. She showed why she was Player of the Year in the State with two more outstanding effort goals to beat Storm defenders and get the puck to the net.
The third period saw both teams with power play chances. The Storm cut it to 4-2 with a rebound goal by Kassidy Oliva. Any momentum after that goal was lost when Madison Schwengler scored on a deflection for the final score of the game.
The Storm sees their run at a second straight championship fall short. They end the season at 16-8. After a slow start they won every game but two after January 1st.
The ECA Stars get to play another day on the biggest stage at State. With the performance they put on against the Storm the State title game is only fitting.
ECA outshot the storm 21-11 in the game.
