West Salem Claims Second Straight Trip to Madison

Four different players score goals for West Salem

West Salem is a senior dominated team and used that experience to their advantage on Saturday. They were a team exuding confidence and aggressiveness.

The Panthers scored an even strength goal at 6:55 of the first period, just as the penalty expired for Onalaska, to take the lead. The goal was scored by Alex Jackson with Richard Brown and Matthew Bigley being credited with assists.

West Salem boosted their lead to two at 6:34 of the second, when Alex Jackson and Tony Weilandt assisted a goal by Brendan Holt. The Panthers' Richard Brown scored at 7:06 of the period to increase the lead to 3. Jack Gorniak and Cayden Krause assisted on the goal. The period ended with West Salem leading 3-0.

Jake Whitbeck scored an unassisted goal with 2:20 remaining in the third period to complete the scoring. West Salem won the right to advance to Madison with a 4-0 victory.

At this time the quarterfinal game times are known, but the participants for those times are not. This is due to the top four teams will be seeded with a random draw for who they play this season.
