FOND DU LAC – It wasn’t just that Justin Schwartzmiller and Brady Welsch scored nine seconds apart to open the scoring for St. Mary’s Springs.
It was when they scored them that made the biggest difference.
Schwartzmiller and Welsch scored in the final 23 seconds of the first period to give the Ledgers a huge boost going into the first intermission and St. Mary’s Springs rode the momentum to an 8-1 win over West Bend Co-op in a WIAA Tournament hockey game at the Blue Line Family Ice Center on Thursday night.
