The Milton Red Hawks and Eastside Lakers have not fared well this season.

Between the two teams they have a combined record of 4-28-2.

So looking at just that, each team felt the time was right to scratch out a late season win. The ties each team has was against each other earlier this season.

Milton erased a 2-0 deficit and rode Nick Robinson's three point night including the game winner with 1:33 left for a 3-2 win Tuesday night.

East side got out of the gates with a pair of goals in the first period. Luke Bieri scored on a end to end rush, getting the corner on the defense, and put the puck past Milton goalie Justin Burke (23 saves) for the early 1-0 lead.

Eastside early in the second period caught Milton in a very bad line change. Laker skater Nik Brendel was able to go glove side for the 2-0 Laker lead.

Milton began their comeback with under nine minutes left in the second period. Logan Servin scored near the crease with Robinson doing the work for an assist. Robinson then scored unassisted on a 4 on 4 with a quick snapshot to tie the game at two going to the third period.

The third period had action at both ends with Laker goalie Quaid Agard holding off a couple of good Red Hawk chances. Milton called timeout with an offensive faceoff upcoming with 1:49 left.

Using that chance to rest their top line they were able to keep the puck in the Laker zone. Robinson was able to get off a shot that clanked off the iron and in for the 3-2 lead.

Eastside was able to get the puck in the offensive zone in the final minute but not able to generate much and Milton held on for the 3-2 win.

Milton improved their record to 3-13-1, while Eastside fell to 1-15-1. Laker goalie Agard, in a good effort, was able to make 23 saves for Eastside.
