Spartans' unbeaten streak stopped at 10 games

Superior drops to 11-3-1, ranked 3rd in WI

The Superior High School boys hockey team had its 10-game unbeaten streak snapped with a 6-2 loss to Duluth Marshall Thursday night at Wessman Arena.

The Hilltoppers outshot the Spartans 14-2 in the first period and took a 2-0 lead in the process on goals by Nolan Krenzen and Levi Stauber.

The Spartans turned things around in the second period with an 11-9 shot advantage and cut Marshall’s lead in half when Taylor Burger scored with help from Luke Drougas.

Superior tied it up 15 seconds into the third period when Trevor Dalbec found himself alone between the circles and put the puck over the shoulder of Hilltopper goaltender Cam Brandt.
