The dreams of a Junior 'A' Hockey team playing in Lake Delton take another step towards reality.

Wednesday, April 13th, was a great day for John Schwarz and Aaron Kirby as their dreams for starting a Junior 'A' hockey team in the Dells was approved by the Minnesota Junior Hockey League.  They now await approval by USA Hockey.  The team would be called the "Dells Ducks" after the business of their primary sponsor, George and Sue Field.

The Minnesota Junior Hockey League is a Tier III sanctioned Junior 'A' hockey league operated out of Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota.  The league's mission is: "To develop 16-20 year olds' hockey skills to prepare athletes for career advancement in a collegiate and/or professional ooprtunity, while providing them secondary school educational opportunities".

While there may be some local players on the team, there will be numerous players from outside the state of Wisconsin participating on the team.  This means the team will be looking for billet families to host players.  Host families will receive a monthly stipend to help cover costs.  This would work along the same premise of a host family for an "Foreign Exchange Student" in high school.  Once more information is gathered application forms will be available on the official Dells Ducks Hockey website (dellsduckshockey.com).
