The St. Mary's Springs hockey team ended a successful regular season with an overtime loss to Waukesha on Saturday at the Blue Line Ice Center. Waukesha's Mack Wilkie scored less than a minute into overtime for the 4-3 win.

It was Waukesha's second power play goal of the game. Wilkie was left alone for a backdoor pass on the goal.

"We were on penalty kill," Springs coach Ty Steffes said of the OT goal. "Seemed to be a little too much of that penalty kill tonight. Once again, we proved we can't stay out of the penalty box."

Tyler Grebe scored in the first and third periods, with Eric Steffes scoring the other goal for the Ledgers (19-4). Springs plays host to the winner of Tuesday's Fond du Lac vs. Grafton game on Thursday.

"We'll use it as a reality check," Steffes said. "We need to stay out of the penalty box, play hard between the whistles and when you have a chance to score you have to take advantage and make sure it goes in. Maybe it's a timely loss."
