Last August, UW women’s hockey goaltending legend Jessie Vetter announced her retirement from the game because she said the training was no longer appealing to her.
Apparently, the competitive fire has come back.
According to published reports, Vetter will be among six goalies on the USA Hockey selection camp roster with hopes of being a member of the 2018 Winter Olympics women’s hockey team.
The camp will take place April 30 to May 4 in Florida. A total of six UW graduates or current players will also be trying out for the team.
Vetter – who turned 31 last December – is the oldest member of the selection team.
