The Madison West boys hockey team took control early in its WIAA sectional game at Verona on Tuesday night.

But the host Wildcats took control late, rallying from a three-goal deficit to build a 5-3 victory and move within one game of a state tournament berth.

West (13-13-0) scored three goals within a 90-second span in the first period to take a 3-0 lead.
