Springs Defeat Neenah and Fox Cities in Conference Tilts

TOWN OF MENASHA — The St. Mary's Springs hockey team saw déjà vu over the weekend winning two games 5-2 at the same rink, and center Tyler Grebe scored twice in both contests for four consecutive two-goal games.

On Saturday, Mike Mathweg started the scoring and Grebe's first made it 2-0 in the second period against the Fox Cities Stars. Fox Cities answered, but the Ledgers (14-3, 7-0) padded the lead early in the third period with goals from Grebe and Jacob Schultz.

MENASHA — Grebe scored twice in the first period as the Ledgers raced to a commanding 3-0 first-intermission lead on Friday.

J.P. Voight had the other first-period goal, while Mathweg and Matt Austin scored in the next two periods to maintain the lead.

"Both conference games — must-win if you want to win conference, and we did that," Springs coach Ty Steffes said.

Springs can earn a share of the league title at home Thursday against Waupun.
