Late surge vaults Arrowhead past KMMO hockey team

Warhawks extend their winning streak to 17 games

Don't get fooled by the final score. Arrowhead's 5-1 victory over the visiting Kettle Moraine/Mukwonago/Oconomowoc boys hockey team Jan. 31 was a lot closer than the final four-goal spread would indicate.

After two periods, the underdog Lasers were staying right with No. 3-ranked Arrowhead, battling the red-hot Warhawks to a 1-1 deadlock. Not only was the score tied heading into the third period, but the shots were even at 12 apiece.

Even though Arrowhead took a 2-1 lead with 13:02 remaining in the game when Patrick Berges scored after getting a nice assist from Connor Akers, the game was still up for grabs with just over 5 minutes to play.
