It was a frustrating start Tuesday night for Arrowhead's boys hockey team against Cedarburg.
In the first period, the Warhawks dominated play, out-shooting the visiting Bulldogs at the Mullett Ice Center by a lopsided 16-6 margin. But despite that dominance, No. 9-ranked Arrowhead found itself on the wrong end of a 1-0 score after the first period.
That frustration continued early in the second period when the Warhawks failed to connect on Their first 10 shots.
But the Warhawks finally found the back of the Cedarburg net on their 27th shot when Connor Akers scored on a rebound to tie the game at 1-1.
That goal by Akers was just the start of an avalanche of goals by Arrowhead in the second period. Five goals later in a span of just 3:08 late in the second period, and Arrowhead had a 6-1 lead after two periods.
