Dragoo tallies 4 points in win

Upper classmen lead team to victory

The Metro Lynx hosted the Badger Lightning to open Badger Conference play.  Julia Dragoo gave the Metro Lynx the early lead at 1:56 of the first period with Carly Baltes and Ally Conybear assisting on the goal.  The Lynx were called for a slashing penalty at the 10:20 mark of the period.  However, it was the Metro Lynx scoring a short-handed goal with their player in the sin bin.  Ella Hall took advantage of a Badger Lightning miscue behind the Lightning net and centered a pass to Julia Dragoo as she was heading into the high slot.  Dragoo one timed the shot to put the Lynx up 2-0.  Brenna Gladding boosted the Lynx lead to 3 with Nicole Osborn and Julia Dragoo assisting with 43 seconds remaining in the period.  Erin Webb stopped both shots she faced in the period for the Metro Lynx, while the Badger Lightning's Gabby Christensen stopped 14 shots.

The second period found the Lynx keeping the pressure on Christensen.  Hailee Brandon scored an unassisted goal at 8:24 of the second putting the Lynx up by 4.  This completed the scoring in the second.  Christensen made 21 saves for the Lightning compared Webb making 1 save.

The final period found the Badger Lightning applying a little more pressure in the offensive zone.  Unfortunately the Lynx continued to outshoot them 2 to 1.  The Metro Lynx completed the scoring at 8:22 of the third period as Julia Dragoo assisted on Siera Petet's goal.  Erin Webb made 8 saves in the period to finish with 11 saves, while Christensen made 16 saves to finish with 51 for the game.
