Storm win Gobbler Cup

The Storm continued their winning ways as they won their Thanksgiving tournament, the Gobbler Cup.  Katelyn Ramthun gave Central Wisconsin the early lead scoring at 3:26 of the first period with Madi Ungerer and Jamie Hemrickson assisting on the play.  Eden Gruber increased the lead to 2 with a power play goal with 5:18 remaining in the first.  Jamie Henrickson and Samantha Brown assisted on the goal.  The first period came to an end with Central Wisconsin leading 2-0.  Lauren Tremblay had 15 saves for the Hurricanes, while Choe Westberg had 3 saves for Central Wisconsin.

Hayward's Kaelin Laub cut the deficit in half with Autumn Fenske assisting 31 seconds into the second.  However, the Storm would dominate the rest of the period.  Kenna Bailey scored with an assist from Maggie Plaza at 10:38 of the second bumping the Storm lead to 2.  Katelynn Schilling increased the lead to 3 at 14:15 of the period with Ramthun and Emelia Edmondson assisting.  Maggie Plaza scored the Storm's fifth goal of the game at 15:52 with an assist by Emma Kysely.  Storm led 5-1 at the end of 2 periods.  Tremblay collected 16 saves in the period compared to 5 saves by Westberg.

The third period had a penalty shot come into play at 5:57, when Taylor Eytcheson was called for tripping.  Tremblay came up big and made the save.  Hayward's Lily Pergolski scored with Reone Martin and Jenna Curtis assisting on the play with 5:30 remaining on the clock.  However, that completed the scoring for the game.  Westburg was credited with 8 saves in the period, while Tremblay had 9 saves.
