The Warriors opened Badger North Conference play with a resounding victory over the Deforest/Poynette/Lodi Norskis, 11-5. Waunakee showed that their speed and physical play was just no match for their fellow Ice Pond tenants this night, throwing 55 shots on the Norski netminders.

Leading the Warriors was Senior Derek Straus with four goals and two assists, but the Brothers Ford (Jason and Keegan) each lit the lamp once and had four helpers for a combined 10 points for the Ford family. Top liner, senior Eric Behrend notched two of his own goals and an assist.

Senior Chase Hellenbrand, back on the ice full speed for the first time this season, buried a silky pass from fellow senior Luke Meske as the Warriors continued to pour it on the Norskis.

Waunakee will hit the road on Thursday (12/9) up Highway 12 to Baraboo before they continue Badger North play next Tuesday (12/14) back at The Ice Pond.
