Tyler Ebner, Bailey Martin tendered by NAHL squad

After four years of playing against each other as rivals, two local high school hockey players will both don Coulee Region Chill sweaters for the upcoming 2016-17 season. Bailey Martin of West Salem High School and Tyler Ebner of Onalaska High School both tendered to play for new head coach Ryan Egan in the North American Hockey League.

In his four years of playing at West Salem, Martin grew a reputation for being a forward who could score from anywhere in the offensive zone and had a mean, physical streak, as well. Martin’s freshman year was also the first year of the West Salem/Bangor Panthers after the split from the West Salem/Sparta Vipers. During the sectional semifinal that year, Martin would score the game-winner midway through the third period in a 3-2 win over the Hilltoppers, sending the Panthers to the sectional final. He scored 25 goals and 51 points his senior year. In 98 career games, Martin scored 108 goals and 90 assists.
