TW Seniors crush Massachusetts in CCM NIT opener

The Team Wisconsin Seniors got their first game of the 2016 CCM National
Invitational Tournament off in fine fashion with a 10-1 romp over MMassachusetts on Thursday night at the Plymouth Ice Rink in Minnesota.

In the win, TW had ten different goal scorers and many had multiple points.

Talk about spreading the wealth.

TW got on the board twice in the first period.  

They scored on Jacob Thousand's goal with a 2 on 1 break when Team Mass defensemen got caught up ice. He was able to finish with help from line mate Blake Ripley, along with Bailey Martin.

TW was able to get on the powerplay shortly after the goal and doubled their lead.

Dylan Ross was able to slam a back door play home and TW took a 2-0 lead into first intermission.

TW opened up the offense in the second period and put the game away with five goals.

Goals were scored that period by Caylen Dyni, Brady Beekman, and Sam Storlie.

Trenton Bliss scored on a beautiful wrap around goal shorthanded with a nice feed by Ripley, and Sean Driscoll scored on a midslot wrister.

Team Mass got their only goal on TW goalie Matt McCoy by Owen Brewster.

Wisconsin finished off the scoring in the third with tallies by Ripley, Alex Nagel and Davis Bunz.

TW outshot Team Mass 44-14 in the game

TW got their first win of the tournament but face much stiffer competition
when they play the Minnesota Seniors at 6:45 tonight.
