The game lived up to the hype, physical and fast. Spectacular goal tending (DeRidder for USA) with unbelievable saves for both goal tenders. 

USA scored first goal in second period (Pivonka) but game stayed right until 3 min left in 2nd when USA scored again (Wise). Final goal scored by Walsh late in 3rd.    

Back and forth game with a lot of penalties and opportunities for both teams.  USA outshot Russia 23-19

USA will face Canada in the Gold Medal game on Sunday at 8:00am CT. The game will be streamed live on Olympic you tube channel.  It will be another fantastic game! Go USA !

Great game today as USA beat Russia 4-2. In the early  minutes of first period Oliver Wahlstrom (starting forward) was taken out with cheap hit to the head. One of their best players (son of Russian NHL player) did it . He was kicked out from game. Not sure if he is able to play tomorrow in rematch or not.

Wahlstrom was taken off on stretcher, with broken nose and stitches in chin. Doing full body X-rays later today as he was out cold for 3-4 minutes. Very scary moment and unfortunately he is obviously done for the rest of games.  

Needless to say this set the pace for the game as it lived up to the hype: physical and fast paced.  

USA is now seeded #2 and will play Russia (seed 3) again tomorrow. Should be another great game.

4-2 tough loss vs Canada today. Started out with their 1st goal a fluke that went off one of our d skates . We outshot them 23-20 and had a lot of chances .

Canada moved the puck better than we did today and the puck did not bounce our way . Team is heathy and with day off tomorrow can re-group for Russia.

Russia won a surprisingly close overtime game vs Finland (both USA and Canada beat Finland) so should leave the boys knowing that they can compete.

It will be another great test .

I have been asked if the games are being streamed live. One of the goalie grandpa's has leapfrogged me in technology. Not hard to do but impressive none the less. @patwall1718. If you are on Twitter you can follow the games on his Twitter feed where he will post the periscope live app when the game starts.

I watched the first period of Canada vs Finland game last night . Canada won 5-1. They are highly skilled team, physical forechecking team. It will be a great test of USA team today.

Just finished Norway game. Won 8-0 . Ty had two assists . US controlled from the the drop of the puck. Team moved the puck well tonight. Play Canada Wednesday,  which should be a tight game . 

Boys played very good against a skilled Finland team. Ty played on starting line with Wise, Weiss and Wahlstrom. D partner with Samuelson.

This team is solid top to bottom.  They play Norway today at 1 wisco time.  Russia appears to be the team to beat and Canada will be good as well.  Will keep you updated. 

On a side note: we are still overwhelmed with the unbelievable support from EC hockey, the city of EC and the state.
