Frantz Announced as Brookfield Head Coach

Former Stars assistant moves to top job

Todd Sobrilsky, Brookfield Central Athletic Director has announced Chris Frantz as the new team head coach of the Brookfield Stars High School Hockey team for the upcoming season. The Stars are a cooperative team between Brookfield Central and Brookfield East High Schools.

Coach Frantz served as the Assistant Varsity coach last season, which was a successful one for the Stars. They finished 12-14 overall with key wins over Marquette and defending state champ Arrowhead. They return 15 lettermen, two that received conference honors, and one with state honors.

Prior to coaching with the Stars, Coach Frantz was the head high school coach for the St. John’s Northwestern Military academy hockey team. He has also coached numerous club hockey teams, including one AAA Tier One state championship team. Coach Frantz is currently employed at Brookfield East High School, making him the first coach of the Stars from within the school district.

Coach Frantz had this to say about his new position, “I am very excited to be a part of the Brookfield Stars as their head coach. I look forward to guiding the boys in the right direction both on and off the ice. I know that the athletes and parents involved in the program have a passion for the game and I am looking forward to the upcoming season and being a part of the long term future of the program.”

Brookfield Central AD Todd Sobrilsky said about Frantz, “Chris really impressed the interview committee with his passion and enthusiasm for the game of hockey and the Brookfield hockey community. We are extremely excited about the exceptional skills he brings to the position.”

The Stars play their games at the Ponds of Brookfield rink located just north of Brookfield Central High School on Calhoun Road. Their first home game is as host of the Turcott tournament on November 26th.
