1-1 and 0-0 tie for Warhawks

The Arrowhead girl’s hockey team traveled to Blaine, Minnesota over winter break to participate in the Schwan’s Cup Tournament. Despite coming up just short in all three games, the tournament proved to be a benefit towards the team’s success.

Following the return from Minnesota the team took on conference opponent, and seventh ranked, Fox Cities at the Mullett Ice Center in Hartland, Wisconsin. Fox Cities got on the board first in what proved to be a hard fought battle between the two teams. Fox Cities held a 1-0 lead until senior forward, and captain, Morgan Hobbs stepped up to prove her leadership. With just 23 seconds remaining in the game, Hobbs scored to tie the game at one and gave Arrowhead a chance for redemption in overtime. The team’s played a scoreless overtime ending the game 1-1.

The following weekend Arrowhead took on the tenth ranked Metro Lynx in a non-conference game. In another thrilling game, the Arrowhead girl’s skated to a 0-0 tie in overtime behind senior goaltender and assistant captain, Abbey Weisrock, who posted a shutout on 36 shots.

Next up the Arrowhead girls faced Beaver Dam for a conference game. With a win of 8-3 Arrowhead is now 2-2-1 in conference play, and 6-8-2 overall.
