CHICAGO — Pesky Ottawa Senators rookie forward Max McCormick didn’t follow a traditional path to the NHL.
So perhaps it only makes sense that he wouldn’t have a front line role model to follow on the defending Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks.
While thousands upon thousands of young players might dream of becoming the next Jonathan Toews, Patrick Kane or Duncan Keith, McCormick has always had eyes on playing just like Blackhawks pest Andrew Shaw.
“It will be fun to play against him, a guy who I have modeled my game after,” says McCormick, who will go head-to-head against Shaw in Sunday’s game here against the Blackhawks.
