Minnesota scores five unanswered in 7-2 win

The two teams were knotted at two after one period, but then Minnesota HP-18s scored four times in the middle period on their way to a 7-2 win over TW HP-18s Friday afternoon in the CCM NIT tourney.

Chase Davidson (Menomonie) scored just over six minutes in to give TW a lead, but it was the only one they would have as MN scored twice to go ahead before Tyler Ebner (Onalaska) scored with under two minutes left in the opener to tie it.

Shots were 20-11 in favor of MN.

Minnesota scored four times in the middle period as they had a 16-12 shot advantage in the period and led 6-2 going into the final 18 minutes.

The Gopher State Gang scored a final tally in the final for the 7-2 win, with TW holding a 15-11 shot edge, but were unable to score.

Will Swanson made 15 stops for MN, while Dylan Phinney (Appleton United) stopped 40 shots for TW.
