Decorated defenseman taking next steps with development in USHL

Tony Stillwell donned the Madison Capitols jersey for the first time back in October this season. The defenseman would record his first career USHL point in his first start with the Capitols, an assist to teammate Will Johnson in the third period to help force overtime on October 3rd vs. Fargo. After playing again the next evening, Stillwell would take a five-month hiatus from the Capitols to rejoin his high school team at Notre Dame Academy in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

When he returned to play with the Capitols in March, Stillwell returned as “Wisconsin Mr. Hockey”, as he earned recognition as the state’s top high school player.  He finished his senior season with 22 points (9g, 13a) in 19 high school games for Notre Dame Academy.

“It was a nice honor to receive the award but I never try to pay attention to awards or stats,” Stillwell said. “It might be cool to put on the shelf, but I’m going for a higher goal.”
