The Stars stepped back onto the ice...

Friday, January 2 - Nagawaukee Ice Arena

The Stars stepped back onto the ice Friday night for a showdown with division rival Waukesha. The first period saw the two teams playing close to the vest with a number of scoring chances at both ends. When the first period buzzer sounded, the Wings held 1 - 0 lead. In the second period, Captain Justin Hill (Weiner) punched the back of the net at 6:06. Later in the period, the Wings found themselves with a five minute man advantage but the Stars PK stepped up to the plate and held the Wings off the scoreboard. At 15:44, Riley Keays wove his way in and scored unassisted to stretch the Star's lead 2 - 1 which is where the second period ended.  The Wings picked up the tying goal at 7:20 of the third period and that is where regulation ended. In overtime neither team scored as both teams picked up a point in the division standings.
