Vetter welcomed back with open arms

After another successful run with the U.S. women’s hockey team, Cottage Grove native Jessie Vetter received a homecoming fit for an Olympian on Friday.

​Vetter, a Monona Grove and University of Wisconsin alum, visited all MG schools on Friday, topping off the day with an assembly at the high school. The 28-year-old, fresh off winning her second silver medal as the starting goaltender for Team USA at last month’s Winter Games, was pleased to be home where her hockey dreams began two decades ago.
