Bennet Hutson wins it with 13.4 seconds left

The Wildcats got on the board first when Peter Barney put in a rebound from right in front just 3:29 into the first period. At 11:47 Duncan Brown took a pass in the slot from Hayden Brown and slammed it home for a 2-0 lead for University School.

Most of the action in the first period was in the Onalaska end of the ice.

At 5:07 in the second period, just moments after the power play ends, USM makes it 3-0. Hayden Brown got the puck in close and flipped it past Onalaska goalie Joe Witz.

Now down by the same 3-0 score that the Onalaska girls faced earlier in the day, the Hilltoppers struck back. Low shot from the point by Caleb Blank was tipped up and over Botcher by Ian Earp. That was really the only good scoring chance for Onalaska as the Wildcats defense did a great job of stripping the puck away from Onalaska as they rushed up the ice.

The Hilltoppers began the third period with 50 seconds of power play time left over from the second. Austin Lubinsky made it 3-2 just 40 seconds into the third when he redirected a shot from Ian Earp.

The pace of the game picked up from there, as University School tried to get some insurance, and Onalaska tried desperately to tie the game. The Hilltoppers achieved that goal with 3:53 left when Luke Tepp scored on a rebound off a shot by Bennet Hutson.

The two would swap roles with just 13.4 seconds left. Luke Tepp put a hard shot on net and the rebound kicked out to Bennett Hutson slapped it with all he had in him and slid on his back into the corner.
