Sun Prairie girls hockey team closes in on title

The Sun Prairie girls hockey co-op registered its biggest win of the season Tuesday, as the Cap City Cougars likely wrapped up at least a share of their fourth-straight Badger Conference title with a 5-1 road win over Stoughton.

Needing a win to stay in the hunt, Cap City (10-10-2 overall; 7-1-1 in conference) jumped out to an early lead after the host MSO Icebergs took a penalty on the second shift of the game and freshman forward Jada Ward (Sun Prairie) made them pay with a power-play conversion just 3 minutes into the first period.
