An old adage says it’s now how you start, it’s how you finish.
The Regis/McDonell Saints boys hockey team is looking to become a living, breathing example of that.
The Saints hit the final week of the regular season on a roll, winners of 12 games in a row. They haven’t tasted defeat since falling to Onalaska 3-1 on Dec. 21.
Since that night, the Saints have put it together. Using a potent offense (at least five goals in nine of those wins) paired with a strong defense (more than two goals allowed just once), Regis/McDonell has turned a 5-3 start into a 17-win season thus far and a No. 2 seed in their postseason sectional.
