Game Was Important For Playoff Seeding

Saturday night"s game at Nagawaukee between Stoughton and KMMO seemed like a normal regular season non conference game.

But it was far from it.

With next weeks playoff seeding meeting coming up KMMO picked up a critical 7-2 win over the visitng Vikings. Both teams are in Section 7 and a win would clear up maybe some possible seeds.

"We've been a team that's been putting up shots but haven't been getting the results game in and game out ", said KMMO Head Coach John Brymer. "We're generating alot of shots and it gets frustrating for the boys".

KMMO got things going right away on the power play when Allan Moutvic scored just over four minutes in for a 1-0 KMMO lead.
Stoughton was able to to convert also on their first power play as well when Aussie Miller got fed the puck back at the blue line, and from straight on went 5 hole on Max Leclaire for the goal. "His foot speed is unbelievable, he's a very nice player who can stop and start on a dime", replied Brymer.

 "He's a great hockey player".
KMMO was able to get back on top before the end of the first period when Allan Moutvic was fed the puck near the left circle, skated to the slot and got the puck to the far post where Justin Persch was able to tap it in for a 2-1 lead after 1 period besides being outshot 13-8 in the period.
KMMO got another goal early in the second period with Brandon Beier was fed the puck from behind the net and slid it behind Stoughton goalie Taylor Lyons for a 3-1 lead.
Once again Aussie Miller was able to strike back when he was fed a pass cross ice and one timed it for a 3-2  KMMO lead. KMMO was able to get two more goals in the period with a big pileup in front of Lyons,Will Duchow was able to slip the puck in the net, and Robbie Dombrowski converted on the power play for a 5-2 lead thru two periods.
The hird period saw Stoughton work hard to get back in the game, but Connor Freeman scored a shorthanded goal, and later scored on a 5 on 3 power play for the final score of 7-2.
After the game Brymer was looking toward Tuesday.
"We got a game Tuesday against Waukesha and that's a big game", said Brymer referring to the seeding meeting.
The netminders for both teams were quite busy as Taylor Lyons had 33 saves, and Max Leclaire had 31 in the win.
The win now boosts KMMO's record to 7-7-3 and the Stoughton Vikings fall to 8-6 overall and play at Waunakee Tuesday.
