The Janesville Bluebirds and Beloit Purple Knights got together Saturday night in Beloit for the final game of the Turkey Shoot Out.  Both teams had gone 2-0 in play leading up to the showdown.

On this night it was all Janesville as they scored a convincing 7-0 blanking of their Big Eight Conference rival. Janesvile got the scoring started in the first period 4:35 as Connor Perkins scored with assists to Tyler Perkins and Sam Iverson. The second goal in the period was scored by Justin Runde when he won a battle by the right post and shoveled the puck in the net past Beloit goalie AJ Walker.

Janesville lead 2-0 after the first period and put the game way out of reach in the second period as Sam Iverson scored a Hat Trick in that period with the third goal going in with less than 1 second in the period.making it a 6-0 game after the second period.

In the third period the young Perkins brother, Tyler scored a power play goal to end the scoring.

From there goalie Michael Mac Dougall shut down the Beloit offense the rest of the way to get the shutout.  Mac Dougall ended with 17 saves and Walker with 22 for Beloit.

Janesville now goes home to play two tough Big Eight powers in Verona on Tuesday and Sun Prairie Thursday. Beloit moves on to play Madison Memorial Tuesday night at home.
