The Wisconsin Girls Hockey Coaches Association (WGHCA) held the Girl’s State Banquet on Thursday, February 28th, in the Alliant Energy Center Exhibition Hall. After the dinner, the coaches of the girl’s state semi-finalists were asked to come forward and talk about their teams. Once all of the teams were announced, the awards ceremonies started.
Jinelle Siergiej started the ceremonies by announcing the Honorable Mention All-State team.

2013 WGHCA Coach of the Year - Peter Brenner
The next award was the WGHCA Coach of the Year. Middleton Metro Lynx Head Coach Peter Brenner was named the 2013 WGHCA Coach of the Year. Coach Brenner stated, “I am humbled to accept this award. I can think of several deserving coaches. I would trade in this award to have the opportunity of the four coaches here and still be coaching my team for another game this week.”
2013 Ms. Hockey Finalists
The final award of the evening was the 2013 Ms. Hockey Wisconsin Award. Each player was introduced by their coach. The five finalists were: Kylie Gazzolo of the Central Wisconsin Storm; Camille Herzog of the ECA Stars; Morgan Hollowell of the Brookfield Glacier; Paige Johnson of the Marshfield Tigers and Lizzi Schieldt of the Middleton Metro Lynx.
