Junior forward leads Old Abes to state title

Eau Claire Memorial won its second state title due to the efforts of 20 players, but one stood out a little more.

Jacob Bresser scored five goals and added an assist in tying for the lead in points at the 2013 state tournament with six, but it was his hustle and overall play that earned him the Wisconsin Prep Hockey State Tournament MVP.

"Bresser was the best player at this tournament," stated Dave Witting, long-time coach and Team Wisconsin coach/manager after Saturday's championship game.

The 6'2", 185-pound junior led his Old Abes past Whitefish Bay 2-1; Superior 5-3; and Verona 6-1 in the title game.
