Storm come back from 2-0 third period deficit

Andy Krugler's goal just over one minute into an extra period gave the WNS Storm a 3-2 overtime victory over the Kettle Moraine Lazers on Tuesday in the sectional semifinal. The goal by the senior forward capped a comeback from being down 2-0 entering the third period.

Following a scoreless first period, the Lazers drew first blood in the second period on a goal by Jeff Johnson and expanded their lead to two goals on a power play goal by Austin Freeman.

Trailing by two in the third period and desperate for a goal, WNS senior defenseman Thomas Aiken corralled the puck behind his own goal and skated coast-to-coast, deking the goaltender to cut the KM lead in half. Energized by Aiken's goal, the Storm got the equalizer six minutes later on senior defenseman Andy Keith's power play score.

Both goaltenders served their teams well for the remainder of the game, turning away numerous scoring chances.

The overtime goal occurred after Krugler nabbed the faceoff win by WNS center Djordje Torbica, drifted to the slot, measured his opportunity, then laced the puck top shelf for the winner.

WNS goalie Sean Leahy finished with 40 saves and KM's Quinn Disrud had 38 saves.
