WSFLG scores nine unanswered goals

The Girls Varsity traveled down to Black River Falls on Friday Night and came home with a big win.

Black River Falls Tigers got on the board right away in the first period and then would get shut down. Hope Tucker made 11 saves, including a breakaway stop, preventing the Tiger from scoring the rest of the game.

The Blizzard would soon tie it up on a goal from Ashley Deitmier assisted by Wendy Roberts. Before the period ended Abby Stevens, with her first goal, made it 2 to 1. Wendy Roberts and Johanna Lauer assisted Abby on the goal.

The 2nd period started off with Sam O’Brien finding the back of the net on a pass from Kassie Lien. Then Abby put another one in the net assisted by Wendy Roberts and Paige Young. That makes it a playmaker for Wendy.

Sam O’Brien added one more before the period ended with an assist from Mackenzie Omer.

The third period added 4 more goals making the final 9-1. Wendy Roberts would add three goals for a hat trick. Amelie picked up one goal also. Ashley Dietmier had three assists for a play maker and Anna Erickson and Sophie Klein would also get an assist apiece.

Blizzard girls skated hard for three periods keeping BRF on their heels. After ending the first with a score of 2-1, our girls continued to put pressure on BFR and capitalize on mistakes. Hope Tucker played well, making some key saves in the second period to thwart BRF'S hopes of staying with the Blizzard.
