Krugler scores shortie in OT thriller

Andy Krugler scored a short-handed goal in overtime to lift the WNS Storm to a 3-2 overtime victory over host Sun Prairie on Saturday.

The Cardinals took a 2-0 lead halfway through the contest on goals from Tyler Carey and CJ Trow.

Cardinal goaltender Tony Francois and Storm goaltender Sean Leahy traded spectacular saves throughout the game, with Francois stoning a 5-3 power play and Leahy stopping a penalty shot in the third.

Oskar Bjornstad's goal with 6 seconds remaining in the second period gave life to the Storm and Djordje Torbica finally tied the game late in regulation time. In overtime, with the Storm short-handed, a long outlet pass from Thomas Aiken to Torbica resulted in a 2-on-1 opportunity, with Krugler slipping the puck in on the feed from Torbica.
