J.T. O’Brien loves hockey.
Anxiously awaiting the start of his bantam-level season next week, the 13-year-old goalie was wandering the concourse at Ashwaubenon’s Cornerstone Community Center on Wednesday as his sister, Sarah, began her under-12 girls team practice with their father looking on.
Tom O’Brien said his son started playing in the Green Bay Area Youth Hockey Association two years ago after serving as a stick boy for the Green Bay Gamblers.
His daughter began last year, no doubt encouraged by seeing St. Norbert College fielding a women’s hockey team in 2010 on top of having one of the most dominant NCAA Division III men’s squads in the country.
