Beloit Memorial Athletic Director Chuck Seils found a familiar face to guide the varsity boys hockey program for the 2012-13 season.

Witting, 66, replaces Erick “Otis” Johnson, who served one season as head coach, compiling a 9-16-1 mark overall and finishing sixth in the Big Eight Conference at 5-9-0.

“I like Otis, but I wasn’t happy with the where the program was headed,” Seils said. “Call it a difference in philosophy. I felt it was necessary to make a change.”
