The eighth annual Al Welling Scholarship Fund Golf Outing will be held on Saturday, September 29 at the Door Creek Golf Course in Cottage Grove.

The outing helps raise money for the Al Welling Scholarship that is awarded every March at the Senior Class Tournament in Waupun. The $1500 award is given to a deserving high school senior to help defray tuition costs.

Welling was a man who loved hockey and worked for many years giving back to the hockey community by reffing games at many levels, from youth to college.

The Al Welling Memorial Scholarship fund was developed to carry on Al's legacy. The annual scholarship fund is awarded to a WIAA hockey playing HS Senior who best displays on and off the ice a commitment to giving back to his/her community.

The Al Welling Scholarship Fund is hosted by the Madison Community Foundation.
