SCT Game 6: S8 over S6 (5-4)

Johnson and McCarty each score twice in S8 win



Section Eight scored four times in the second period and held on to edge Section Six 5-4 Saturday afternoon at the SCT in Waupun.

Taylor Brown scored first for S6 at the 5:46 mark of the first for an early lead. Three minutes later, Jason Ford tallied to give S6 a 2-0 lead.

With 59 seconds left in the first, Peter Schmitz scored for S8 to cut the lead to 2-1, which is how the period would end.

Shots were in favor of Section Eight, 14-13.

Jeremy 'Danglesaurus' McCarty worked his magic just 1:18 into the second to tie the game at two for S8.

Six went back ahead at 6:47 when Eddie Matsushima scored to make it 3-2 in favor of S6.

Jared Johnson tied the game at the 7:56 mark for S8, and they would score twice in a span of 58 seconds late in the period to make it 5-3. Those goals were credited to Johnson and McCarty.

S8 outshot their foes 14-12 in the stanza.

Brown scored again for Section Six--he finished with two goals and two helpers--to cut the lead to 5-4 at the 2:08 mark, but that's how the game would end.

S6, trying to finish with a fury, outshot S8 11-6 in the period.

Alex Tillotson (17) and Jack McMahon (15) ended with a combined 32 saves for Section Eight, while Travis Dahlk (15) and Matt Opsal (14) finished with 29 stops for S6.
